Curved Sliding Glass Doors
Curved glazing is an excellent glazing solution for maximising views and the flow of natural light. Fixed curved structural glass panes are becoming more commonplace in luxury new builds and contemporary commercial projects, but sliding door are rarely seen.
The minimal windows Curve® is a new and innovative sliding door solution that utilises bespoke curved elements including a curved base track and curved integrated drainage solution.
Specification for Curved Sliding Doors
As will all minimal windows bespoke glazing solutions, the minimal windows Curve has few limitations when it comes to design.
When specifying a minimal windows Curve for your next project, there is a wide range of options. This includes whether the system is double or triple glazed. This choice will affect the maximum weight for each pane, double glazed panes have a maximum weight of 500kg and triple glazed panes can weigh up to 1000kg.
Next if the size of the system, the maximum tested pane height is 4.5m, and the maximum pane width will depend on the radius of the system. The minimum radius for fixed panes is 1000mm and the minimum radius for sliding leaves is 4000mm.
Depending on what values the system needs to achieve, a wide range of technical glazing solutions can be specified with this system such as solar control glazing.
In terms of design, the aluminium framing can be finished with a polyester powder coating in any of over 200 RAL colours, or the profiles can be anodised or specified with specialised finishes.
The head and base frames of this curved glass sliding door system can be concealed within the building finishes for the most minimalistic design.
Large Sizes Available
Being able to reach heights of up to 4.5m, this innovative curved sliding door system pushes the boundaries of modern architectural glazing.
The maximum pane width will depend on the radius, with a minimum radius of 1000mm for sliding pane and 4000mm for fixed panes.
Ultra Slim Framing
Modern advances in glazing technology allow oversized and curved sliding doors to be specified with ultra slim framing profiles.
Thermally broken aluminium profiles achieve high performance values without compromising on a modern and minimal design.
Highly Flexible Design
A variety of technical glaizng soltuions can be incorporated into this curved glass sliding door system, such as solar control glass.
The aluminium frames can be finished with a PPC in any Ral colour, anodised or specialist finishings for a completely bespoke system.
Unparalleled thermal performance values are ahcieved by combining thermally broken profiles with high glass to frame ratio and Low E glazing.
Performance values are affected by a range of factors and therefore must be calculated on a project by project basis.
Automation & Integration
As with all minimal windows® aluminium glazing systems, this curved glass sliding door can be specified as an automated system.
This can be integrated with smart home technology systems, allowing huge curved glass panes to be slid open with ease.
The minimal windows 4+ framing profile can be used with this system to accommodate tripled glazed units.
Triple glazing offers higher thermal performance values with the sightline only being a few millimetres wider than a double glazed system.
