Brook Lodge
Set at the base of a double height extension in Bath, a minimal windows® system was specified as a two-track sliding configuration, offering uninterrupted views and effortless access to the garden. However, the internal kitchen layout introduced a design challenge, cabinetry installed on either side of the rear wall left no room for a fully sliding door that could stack away entirely.
To resolve this, a bespoke configuration was developed using two fixed panels flanking a single central sliding panel. This allowed the door to operate efficiently without interfering with the kitchen units, while still delivering a generous clear opening and maintaining the hallmark minimal sightlines that define the system. The result is a refined and practical solution that balances architectural ambition with spatial functionality.

As with all minimal windows® systems, this installation benefits from fully recessed head and base profiles, ensuring clean transitions between inside and out. The flush threshold detail includes an integrated drainage system, designed to manage rainwater without the need for surface-mounted tracks or visible barriers, ideal for seamless access and uninterrupted floor finishes.
Although minimal in appearance, the system offers robust performance, with thermally broken aluminium profiles and high-specification glazing that meets modern standards for energy efficiency and comfort. This project demonstrates how minimal windows® can adapt to the unique spatial and architectural constraints of a site, in this case, a double height extension in Bath, without compromising on aesthetics or usability.
