Slim Framed Sliding Glass Doors
The award-wining minimal windows® slim framed sliding glass doors have been used in this rear extension and refurbishment designed by Tigg+Coll Architects. The small contemporary extension was a new addition to the current semi-detached Victorian home to work with the homeowners change in lifestyle. The Malbrook Road residence was once a family home, but since the children moved out, the layout didn’t work for them anymore and it was time to alter the space to work for their new lifestyle.
“Although we wanted the new extension to feel contemporary in form and use, we also wanted to use a material that would link this new aspect back to the history of the existing building and area as a whole,” – Tigg.
The act of the minimal windows® slim framed sliding doors being able to ‘disappear’ into the wall finishes, with incredibly elegant thin vertical sightlines on show offer uninterrupted views of the garden. The sightlines have been powder coated in the popular RAL 7016. To emphasize the threshold details, a flush brick framing was used to coincide with the design of the main house.
