minimal windows used as rear sliding doors to external pool

A new build home in Richmond was designed with an ultra-contemporary external appearance which was greatly enhanced by the architects use of slim framed, aluminium sliding doors to the rear floor. Keller minimal windows® were the perfect choice for the rear sliding glass doors overlooking the external pool area.

The slim aluminium frames were able to achieve the heights the architects desired for their modern design with high internal ceilings at 4m up and the standard flush base threshold created a smooth internal to external floor finish; perfect for access onto a pool area.

Finished in a dark powder coat the sliding doors sit well within the external white render walls with brick accents.

The UK installer for minimal windows®, IQ Glass detailed the tricky angled connection between the 4 meter high sliding Keller minimal windows® and the angled wall by installing a narrow, shaped frameless glass end connecting the stone wall and sliding doors.

The external pool are was an important part of the garden design and was designed to form part of the living areas of the contemporary house. By using a slim 21mm vertical frame of the Keller minimal windows® sliding doors, and full floor to ceiling sliding glass faces, the views from the kitchen and dining area out onto the pool are uninterrupted and allow this external area to become part of the open plan home.

Tall, narrow sliding glass panels were the chosen configuration for this design project, allowing two thirds of the rear openings to slide away over a fixed slim framed panel.
