Strand Court

harbor views through sliding glass doors with minimal frames

A major renovation project in Salcombe, Devon, with picturesque views out onto the small fishing harbour used KELLER minimal windows® and specialist glazing to create a modern ground floor home. This contemporary renovation consisted of automated and manual slim frame sliding glass doors facing out onto the harbour, taking advantage of these unique surrounding views.

Four KELLER minimal windows® installations were used to wrap around the apartment creating a seamless transition between the interior living spaces and the exterior decking area beside the harbour. The full height sliding glass doors capture all the natural light available, creating bright open plan living areas.

The master bedroom features minimally framed sliding glass doors with two panels bi-parting over two fixed. For the added comfort and luxury, the clients opted for heated glass within the sliding glass doors as the sole heat source to the master bedroom. These sliding glass doors had to be specially engineered to allow the electrical connection for the heated glass units.

Minimal windows have a small sightline of 21mm enabling the internal and external living areas to merge seamlessly creating an indoor-outdoor living space, perfect for enjoying and maximising the views that can be enjoyed just as much from the inside during the colder the winter months.

The slim frame sliding glass doors were finished in a very light grey. The minimalistic design desired by the client was achieved as well as maximising the views, a light filled lounge was created with plenty of outside seating and dining space to entertain family and friends.
