rooftop conservatory space maximised with open corner sliding doors
The Stanley Crescent project involved an internal flat refurbishment along with the demolition of the existing rooftop conservatory. Minimal windows® sliding glass doors were installed onto this conservatory to provide unlimited views across London’s skyline. This rooftop conservatory is home to a new kitchen and living space.
These slim framed sliding glass doors have been installed with an open corner to maximise the space available when the doors are open as well as allowing incredible amounts of natural light to pass through into different areas of the new space.
The 3 pane sliding glass doors open to the right, away from the corner, with one fixed panel. The other sliding door on the corner opens into a hidden pocket in the wall. Installing a hidden pocket door was ideal for this project as it provides further access space between the internal and external living areas.
Another set of 3 pane slim framed sliding glass doors were installed opposite the open corner doors to increase the natural light intake and to provide easy access to the rooftop terrace from both sides.
The slim 21mm framing used for these sliding glass doors, combined with large glass panels allows the maximum natural light to pass through into the space, creating a well-lit kitchen throughout the day. These slim framed sliding glass doors have been installed with a flush finish, providing step-free access to the rooftop terrace.
