Old High Mill in North Yorkshire is a rare example of heritage architecture reimagined for contemporary living. The owners set out to transform the historic mill into a light filled family home while preserving its character and rural charm.

A key part of this transformation was the creation of a new indoor swimming pool wing an elegant, modern addition that required exceptional glazing performance and a minimalist aesthetic. The minimal windows sliding door system was chosen for the swimming pool glazing in North Yorkshire, that would connect the the glazed space with the surrounding landscape while meeting strict thermal, structural, and conservation requirements. The pool elevation featured 3 track sliding doors with a 21mm threshold and a height of 2.1m.

The swimming pool glazing in North Yorkshire included a Marine Grade Finish in RAL 7021 and a solar coating was also applied to reduce solar gain and improve thermal performance. These additions were installed to transform the interior into a bright and welcoming space, maximising natural light throughout the pool hall. The homeowners wanted ultra-slim sightlines and precision engineering  with a glazing system that was capable of performing in swimming pool environments, whilst the space to feel immersive and tranquil.

This project highlights how swimming pool glazing in North Yorkshire can elevate both the functionality and aesthetic of a heritage property. By combining advanced glazing technology with sensitive architectural design, the Old High Mill renovation demonstrates how modern interventions can enhance historic buildings without compromising their integrity.
