Our complete series of sliding glass doors are now fully hurricane resistant certified.

Our oversized sliding glass door system - minimal windows® 4+ - was the first to have been tested under TAS testing guidelines to demonstrate that it is a hurricane resistant certified sliding glass door system engineered to comply with the Miami Dade codes.

Our standard minimal windows sliding glass doors now achieve the same exemplary performance level and is fully certified for hurricane resistance under the same TAS testing criteria and are fully listed within the Florida ‘dbpr’ database for specification (The Florida Building Code).

This new added certification applies to our fixed and sliding minimal windows double glazed systems making it more versatile and cost-effective.

Hurricane-resistant Testing

The hurricane-resistant testing was completed with cyclic wind pressure loading tested to 3510Pa in agreement with TAS 201 – Impact Test Procedure, TAS 202 – Criteria for Testing Impact & Non-Impact Resistant Building Envelope Components Using Uniform Static Air Pressure, and TAS 203 – Criteria for Testing Products Subject to Cyclic Wind Pressure.

With climate change bringing more volatile unprecedented weather with driving rain and powerful winds, this certification offers quality assurance and peace of mind.

The resulting systems in both standard minimal windows 4 and triple glazed minimal windows 4+ are officially classed as hurricane resistant certified sliding glass doors.
