A new build project featuring minimal windows® shows how a modern home can work in harmony with the natural cliffside.
Old Quay was recently featured in Design Buy Build magazine, showcasing the modern architecture that complements the landscape.
What was originally planned as a home refurbishment project soon became a complete redesign and rebuild of this family home. The high level of flood risk meant a new design was needed to ensure the home was protected.
The build features many natural and locally sourced building materials, such as various wood types and stones, which give the home a modern design whilst complementing the surrounding nature in the cliffside.
The minimal windows® 4+ sliding door system was used around the home as the high performance, thermally broken, aluminium frame ensure the home is a comfortable temperature all year round. Also, the high-performance triple glazed door increases the strength and thermal performance against cold sea winds.
Slim aluminium frames and structural rooflight glazing systems provided a breathtaking view of the river whilst allowing in a vast amount of natural light.
