The Marbella holiday villa is an amazing project which was carried out by the IQ Glass team. The villa has stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and focuses on using cool, neutral colours to contrast against harsher materials such as timber and stone.
With such a vast amount of glazing, privacy was a high concern. To ensure privacy was at a point where the owners would be comfortable, the villa walls face the busy streets ensuring that no one can look into the villa and peer through the glass facades.
Bottom floor façade
The lower floor glazing at this property spans from one end to another providing light to the kitchen and living areas of the home. The large façade features a set of minimal windows slim sliding doors that allows for quick access from the kitchen to the pool area.
These doors have been tactically placed to provide outdoor access, and to be used for ventilation while the owners are cooking. The interior ceiling has been set lower than the external structure which allows the doors to expand past the internal ceiling fully hiding the head frame of the sliding doors when enjoying the views from the inside of the home.
Another configuration of minimal windows feature within the same glass wall to further outdoor access and ensure that the owners are not short of ventilation options, especially when the Marbella sun is beaming down onto the villa.
1st floor facade
Following the lower glass wall, the 1st floor of this incredible villa has another vast façade that has several minimal windows sliding doors for balcony access from the various bedrooms upstairs.
The sliding doors upstairs feature 21mm sightlines for maximum views and minimal framing. The sliders also have fully flush thresholds to ensure that the transition from inside to outside is smooth.
Combining the two facades gives the villa an ultra modern appearance and allows for amazing views of Marbella.
