Gray Manor

New build home uses floor to ceiling sliding glass doors to complement the contemporary building aesthetic

Using a monochrome colour scheme for the building exterior gives this luxury new build home a minimal and modern overall aesthetic.

Dormer windows were used on the upper floor to ensure the sloping roof didn’t make the upper floor feel too compact. These architectural design elements are a perfect choice for loft conversions or spaces such as this one where rooms have sloped ceilings.

The sleek black frames of the large sliding glass doors on the lower floor complements the black interior design elements, such as the black stools selected for the breakfast bar in the kitchen.

Flush thresholds of the corner opening sliding doors allow for a fluid transition between the internal and external living spaces, but the stark contrast in flooring between the light wooden interior floor and the dark grey patio tiles segments the areas.

The homeowners wanted areas they could entertain friends and family and once the home was built, they filled the outdoor patio space with a range of wicker garden furniture.

Floor to ceiling glazing allows the internal space to be well lit at all times and using a corner opening configuration provides the ability to open the minimal windows sliding glass doors and merge the patio area with the large kitchen-diner space inside, creating the perfect large indoor-outdoor space, ideal for entertaining.

The overall colour scheme for this contemporary home was monochrome, with grey, white and black being used for the external building finishes, the glazing frames and patio floor.

Large glazing elevations provide the internal spaces with clear views of the stunning garden area, and don’t disrupt the aesthetic of the home. minimal windows glazing systems seek to only enhance and highlight design elements of the home.

Wooden flooring used inside the home and for a section of the outdoor space helps to break up the grayscale colours and add a touch of warmth to the luxury home.
